Chatter Creek Cat-Skiing

Real Mountain Experience.

Located deep in the backcountry north of Golden, BC, Chatter Creek is known for their larger-than-life terrain and distinctive East Kootenay culture. It’s the “Spirit of Chatter Creek” that keeps guests coming back.

For over 20 years skiers and snowboarders have made the journey to their remote lodge to experience the 58,000 acre playground. The area is known to be one of the largest, snowiest and most spectacular backcountry skiing and snowboarding destinations in the world.

Their ski terrain extends over 235 square kilometers and consists of tree runs, old burns, wide-open alpine areas, and glacier skiing.

Most of Chatter Creek’s ski terrain is between 1500m and 2900m (4900ft and 9500ft) above sea level. The higher elevation ensures that the temperatures remain colder, the snow stays light and dry and is ideal for skiing or snowboarding. You get the snow you want and lots of it.

Their vast tenure is located on the powder rich Western slopes of the Rocky Mountains, overlooking the Northern Selkirk Mountains to the West, and the Columbia Icefield to the East.

Their guides choose where to take our guests based on current snow and weather conditions and the ability of the group.

They offer a regular program of Cat-Skiing as well as Small Group Cat-Skiing.

Ski Tourers? They’ve got you covered. Not only with a Heli-Assisted Ski Touring program, but a Cat Assisted Freeride program - where you get the chance to ski tour with professional athletes as your guide and mentor, with access to snowcat transportation.

Participants in both Freeride program and Ski Touring program will explore pristine backcountry slopes and remote alpine zones, minimising fatigue while maximising time spent in exceptional terrain.

They also offer snowmobile programs.
